Wind farm question

The results of the Scottish Government’s research on the potential effect of wind power developments on tourism (Your report, 13 March) should be worrying for all those who rely on the tourist industry for part or all of their livelihood.

One has to ask, however, why the researchers were only asked to estimate the likely impact of “all the wind farms needed to meet the renewables obligation” when there are already four or five times that number in the planning system and it is the Scottish Government’s avowed intention that wind power should be an export commodity.
