Only details on wind turbine plan has come via Horncastle News

As residents of Wispington we feel we have to put pen to paper. Wind Turbines. So far, quite worryingly, the only information to come our way has been from the Horncastle News.

These things are going to greatly affect our lives and there has been no contact from Enertrag, ELDC or our parish council. Contrary to the report in the News on page 5 of February 6, no one has spoken to us or any one else we have spoken to in Wispington.

ELDC has apparently given planning permission for a test rig. Why were we not given leave to object to this? Things seem to be happening very rapidly and very secretively. We are sure if we applied to put in for permission for a personal turbine all and sundry would be asked for their views.

These turbines are around 130m tall, 85m to the hub and 90m diameter blades.

They are enormous. The dainty windmills at Mablethorpe are 65m to the hub with 44m diameter blades, 87m tall. At Conisholme they are 64.6m to the hub with 48m diameter blades, 88.6m tall. The original permission here was for 8 turbines now there are 12 more under construction.

The turbines at Wispington are half as tall again. They are taller than Beachy Head cliffs plus the Belle Toute Lighthouse put together,104m, for those of us that remember Live and Loves of a She Devil.

They will affect the value of our property and for those of us with mortgages could pose a serious threat when lenders become involved.

Through the vibration and low level noise emitted they pose a serious health hazard. Forget mobile phone masts, they pale into insignificance at the damage these things can do.
It is fashionable to talk about climate change and renewable sources of energy. If Enertrag are so proud of their green source of energy, why aren’t they and the farmer involved out there in the community promoting their product with pride? The skyline around here will not have been so radically altered since the last ice age helped form the current beautiful landscape of the Wolds.

We have been sitting waiting for something to happen. If you are against these satanic mills you have to be pro-active and get involved. Our silence will be seen as submission and Enertrag will plant these things at will. We have been in contact with the Baumber and Minting action group. Please contact us. Edlington, Thimbleby, even Horncastle; this affects you.

Ok so we are NIMBYs because Wispington is in our back yard but does anyone want to swap with us?
