Clay Banks continues to refine wind ordinance

The Clay Banks Town Board renumbered its planned municipal wind ordinance Thursday, Feb. 14, to reflect work that will be done on the proposal.

After formulating its municipal wind energy ordinance, the town’s Wind Energy Committee will hold a public hearing this spring to get residents’ input on the measure, said Clay Banks Town Chairman Mike Johnson.

The committee met today, Feb. 23, to continue its work on the proposal.

The committee wants stricter limits than those set in the revised Door County Wind Energy Ordinance adopted Jan. 29 by the county Board of Supervisors.

The town Wind Energy Committee was formed in May 2006 after a company requested approval to build three wind turbines there.

In other business, the town board accepted the resignation of Warren Kruswick from the Southern Door Fire Department Board of Directors. He has been a board member since 1980 when the department was established.

Guy Overbeck was appointed to replace Kruswick.
