The operators of one of Scotland’s largest windfarms are planning an expansion.

ScottishPower Renewables operate the giant Black Law Windfarm near Forth.

The company are now planning an extension to the windfarm and are holding a public consultation exercise to detail their proposals.

And Scottish Coal are holding a public consultation exercise for a planned new opencast site near Douglas.

This involves their proposed Mainshill Opencast where the company intend to extract both coal and fireclay.

Mainshill is just to the east of Douglas, near junction 12 of the M74. They are holding a public consultation tomorrow (Friday) in the St Bride’s Centre, Braehead, Douglas, between 2 and 8pm.
