Windfarm developer is facing opposition

An energy company which has already built one windfarm in Northamptonshire has unveiled plans for another.

Your Energy opened the £20m windfarm at Burton Latimer in 2006, which provides electricity for 8,000 houses through its 10 turbines.

The company has now revealed plans to build 12 turbines on a piece of farmland between Crick, Yelvertoft and Lilbourne, near Daventry.

Development manager Charlotte Healey said: “At the moment, our knowledge of the site indicates there’s potential for around 12 turbines, but there are many studies to be done over the coming year which will determine whether the site is suitable and, if so, how many turbines it could accommodate.”

The plans have already been greeted with scepticism by people living close to the proposed site, including members of Yelvertoft Parish Council who were unanimous they did not want the development to go ahead.
