Landowners in windy areas, particularly if they’re in Rich and Summit counties or southwestern Utah, are urged to contact the Utah Geological Survey offices if they’re interested in possibly developing their property commercially or for private use as a site for wind-produced energy.
UGS officials announced Wednesday that they will loan out, free of charge, anemometers that measure whether wind in a certain area is strong and consistent enough to justify building a small- or large-scale wind development facility at the site.
Those interested are asked to apply by March 1 by visiting the Web site, www.geology.utah.gov/sep/wind or by calling 801-538-5413.
