Hot air?

We are led to believe that the construction of wind farms will be a significant benefit in the “fight to save the planet”. The EU tells us in its programme for renewables that the UK will need to build 20,000 more turbines. The costs and effectiveness in windless periods are already well documented.

Recent visits through Tow Law cause me to wonder why out of six turbines I have never seen more than four operating and last week, when there was plenty of available wind, only two were working.

Perhaps maintenance is a problem or maybe there is an operational rest period or diversity factor.

Whatever the reason, it would seem to me that it highlights the farcical nature of the scheme on a national basis.
