Permission for four wind turbines in Aberdeenshire has been granted by the Scottish Government, after the main objection to the proposal was withdrawn.
The application for four 256ft turbines to be erected at Clochnahill, four miles south of Stonehaven, was rejected by Kincardine and Mearns Area Committee in March last year, amid concerns they could interfere with passing aircraft.
In November, just weeks before the appeal was due to be heard, both Aberdeenshire Council and the British Airports Authority removed their objections to the scheme.
After attending the public inquiry at Kinneff Village Hall on December 12, government reporter Roger Wilson determined that “there would be no significant effect on the safety of efficiency of Aberdeen Airport and its operation” and granted the appeal.
