A child's eye view of wind turbines

When your nine-year-old granddaughter tells you what a monstrosity wind turbines are without prompting, you know there’s something wrong about them.

Not only do they look hideous, spoil our Cornish countryside and are alien to any conservation I know, but they produce little electricity at huge cost to the environment.

And I’m sorry to say this, but the only people to profit from them are landowners selling their souls for profit and the turbine companies who get massive initiative grants from the Government.

Stick them out at sea or next to the House of Commons and the House of Lords, and see how they like it.

Many thanks to all my family and friends who made my 70th birthday party so memorable; I’m proud of each and every one of them. I’m not giving in just yet and as soon as I can master this computer I’ll finish my book and get on with my charity work.

My next appeal will be for Carnkie Chapel, near Redruth, which desperately needs help to keep going. Do we want to see another chapel close? It will go the same way as the others – conversion to a house for another incomer to buy, because no Cornish couple could afford it.

Look at all the old Cornish chapels already converted!
