Scottish & Southern Energy PLC said it has been granted planning permission by The Highland Council in Scotland to develop a 40MW wind farm, worth an investment of around 45 mln stg.
The windfarm at Fairburn in Ross-shire will have 20 turbines and, subject to a final investment decision, construction work is expected to start later in the year.
Scottish & Southern’s eighth windfarm will bring its total installed capacity to 315MW, which will increase by an additional 308MW when it completes the acquisition of wind developer Airtricity Holdings Ltd.
