Thieves target wind farms in Truro area to steal copper wire

Thieves have been targeting wind farms in the Truro area.

As reported last week they stole copper wire and caused damage at the Four Burrows site, closing the site for four days.

The Carland Cross Wind Farm at Mitchell was broken into and copper earth cable/copper was taken.

This happened sometime between December 12 and December 18.

Between December 2 and December 14 the Western Power site at Tregavethan, Truro was broken into and again copper pipe stolen.

Anyone in those areas who may have information is asked to contact Truro police on 08452 777444.

Lead flashing and guttering, valued at £50 was stolen from Trevint House, Strangways villas, Truro overnight on Friday.

Overnight December 15/16 December a house in Carrine Road, Truro was broken into and property stolen.

Between about 11pm and 11.30pm on Friday damage was caused to one of the windows at Gul International, Pydar Street, Truro.

Between 9pm on December 17 and 9am December 18 a car windscreen was damaged in Byan Close, Threemilestone.
