Shasta County has completed a draft environmental document about a proposed 6.5-mile stretch of wind turbines on Hatchet Ridge near Burney.
The power-producing project, proposed by Renewable Energy Systems America Developments, would erect 42 to 68 three-bladed wind turbines mounted on 200-foot steel towers about 35 miles northeast of Redding.
The Environmental Impact Report is available for review weekdays at the county’s Planning Division office at 1855 Placer St. It is also available at www.co.shasta.ca.us/departments/resourcemgmt/drm.
Written public comments on the document are being taken until Jan. 28. They should be sent to Shasta County Department of Resource Management, Planning Division, 1855 Placer St., Suite 103, Redding, CA 96001, Attn: Bill Walker, senior planner; or e-mailed to bwalker@co.shasta.ca.us.
