The [Herkimer County] legislature also agreed Thursday night to have the county attorney start working on a final contract with wind-turbine developers in Fairfield.
Separately, the county has learned that the developer of a proposed wind-turbine project in Manheim has backed out, but that the Fairfield developer is interested in taking that over, Legislator Gary Jackson of Ilion said.
A third project, the Jordanville Wind Project, suffered a setback recently when a state judge voided town approvals of the project.
The developers put out a statement Thursday saying they are reviewing their options.
Some neighbors opposed the Jordanville project, saying it would despoil the rural landscape.
