Anti-giant turbine campaigners shift into a higher gear

Residents attempting to stop six giant wind turbines being built near Bodmin are this week stepping up their campaign.Members of BLOT (Bodmin and Lanivet Opposes Turbines) have arranged a private meeting with local MP Dan Rogerson, on Friday, to put their concerns and seek his support.

Preliminary work has been carried out on farmland at Resperry Cross by renewable energy company Ecotricity, although a planning application has yet to be submitted to North Cornwall District Council.

The campaign group says if the 330ft turbines are built, they will dominate the landscape to the detriment of the area.

Bodmin Town Council has taken the unusual step of agreeing to oppose the turbines even before a planning application has been submitted.
