FRIDAY DECEMBER 7, 10am: A number of public “walk-in” sessions will take place to inform people about the proposed wind farm development at Baumber.
Although no dates have been confirmed, Enertrag, the firm behind the bid to site eight 125 metre high turbines, say it is keen to include residents in the process.
In a document sent to East Lindsey District Council, the company states: “As part of the consultation process, public walk-in exhibitions will be held to inform local people about the proposals, explain the development and the likely effects.”
It adds: “We would like to work in association with East Lindsey District Councl on the issue and would be keen to discuss the most effective ways of undertaking the public consulatation in your district.”
Enertrag is currently undertaking an environmental impact review with the aim of submitting a formal planning request in the new year.
Since the News revealed the plans a fortnight ago, we’ve received scores of letters on the subject, the vast majority of which are firmly against the proposals.
Many people fear that the turbines will blight the landscape and spoil the local scenery.
Others also question how effective the wind farms are at providing energy.
Enertrag is presently consulting with many of the parish councils in the area as well as Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust, English Heritage, the RSPB, Natural England and the aviation authorities.
