Public are against windfarm

Residents voted against a proposed windfarm at Hill of Skelmonae during a public meeting.

Thirty-five people turned out at the meeting at Methlick over the proposal and a vote showed 17 against and 11 in favour of the development.

Protesters argued that the four-turbine windfarm could cause noise problems and effect property prices as well as voicing concerns over “the visual impact”.

Applicant David Smith, who was supported by Scottish Agricultural College environmental engineer Rod McGovern, said: “If only 35 people attended, obviously most of the public are not particularly concerned.”
