Big leap for turbine opposition

A grandmother and her son, from Gwyddgrug, Pencader, threw themselves out of a plane to raise money for their fight against a Carmarthenshire wind farm development.

Helen and Christopher Reed raised £1,200 from their skydive near Swansea.

The money will go towards the legal costs of a challenge against Carmarthenshire Council’s decision to grant planning permission for 10 wind turbines on land at Blaengwen Farm, near Alltwalis.

Mrs Reed, who has never done anything like a skydive before, said: “It was fantastic. I thought people would sponsor me and it would help in the fight against these dreadful turbines.”
