Turbine is topic for meeting in Quincy

A meeting will be held Wednesday night so local residents can hear about the possibility of the state building a wind turbine on Nut Island.

The presentation and discussion will be held at 7 p.m. at the Quincy Yacht Club, 1310 Sea St. Ward 1 City Councilor Leo Kelly, who set up the meeting, urged residents to attend.

The Massachusetts Water Resources Authority is considering building the turbine to power its underground sewage pumping station.

It would be the second coastal turbine proposed in Quincy. The first was proposed for the former Fore River shipyard.
