'Serious mistakes could have affected result'

Objectors to the wind farm said they will be seeking legal advice on the findings of the report.

Campaigner Jill Lingard said: “There were serious errors that could have affected the result. What they do in the future is not going to change what happened. It was a multi-million pound development and they made errors. Whatever they do is not going to help the people in this area.”

She added: “It is a serious matter. The report is critical of the professionalism of the officers. They made the errors. We are not happy with the review report because it is East Lindsey’s report into the actions by East Lindsey officers.”

The first of the 20 turbines have been erected by Ecotricity.

Five turbines each 89-metres high dominate the landscape. The firm said they are due to start operating in March.
