Don’t inflict THIS on us

Campaigners are using graphic images to hammer home the scale of wind turbines they claim would ‘blight’ the Weaver Valley.

Stop Aston Windfarm group (SAW) has released pictures comparing the four 410ft high turbines to an average person, Big Ben (314ft) and the Fiddlers Ferry Cooling Tower (370ft).

The diagrams are a leaflet campaign circulated to residents in Aston, Sutton Weaver, Frodsham, Acton Bridge, Dutton, Kingsley and Crowton.

SAW claims wind turbines at Aston Village, whose tips would be the same height as Frodsham Hill, would dominate the landscape and be visible for up to 20 kilometres.

The scheme was thrown out by Vale Royal Borough Council on the grounds it would be inappropriate and a noisy eyesore but developer Tegni Cymru appealed and the issue will be decided at public inquiry.
