Lights in danger of going out

A British Wind Energy Association spokeswoman recently described the delay in deploying renewables as a “bureaucratic obstacle”.

By this, I assume she implies that democracy should be crushed, and schemes such as the Isle of Lewis wind farm forced ahead, despite 11,397 objections and only 59 letters of support.

The renewables industry has so bewitched the politicians that they now believe the myth that wind power and other unproven technologies can provide the necessary base load capacity and available load-following power to maintain our homes, hospitals and industry.

Unless common sense takes over very soon, there is no doubt that the lights will go out. – Yours etc,
