Cambois turbine plans put on hold

Plans to erect six wind turbines at Cambois have been put on hold until a meeting can be arranged between Wansbeck District Council and Blyth Valley Borough Council.

Members of Blyth Valley’s development control panel were told that officers from both authorities were in the process of setting up a meeting to discuss the proposals.

The applicant, Hainsford Energy (Blyth Harbour) Ltd, propose to construct the six 80m turbines at Blyth Wind Farm on North Blyth Access Road, plus a meteorological mast, substation building, access tracks, power and telecommunications cabling, and a temporary construction compound.

In September, Blyth Valley Borough Council raised a number of issues associated with the application that the authority wished to see resolved, and that if Wansbeck District Council failed to make a decision, it would be submitting an objection against the plans.
