Wind farms would be a disgrace

Regarding the planned location of wind farms on the outskirts of local villages, it would be a disgrace if these were allowed to go ahead.

We are fortunate to have such an asset as the picturesque Solway Plain for us all to appreciate and for the much needed tourists to enjoy.

The Solway Plain is a beautiful, unspoiled, natural area which, apart from electricity pylons and telegraph poles, remains unblemished and much has been written about the history and beauty of this area.

I understand that in some districts these turbines will be about two fields away from residential properties.

How awful to look out on these eyesores, especially during the summer season when the famous Solway sunsets are so magical.

Apparently there is to be a public meeting eventually to discuss the pros and cons of this project.

I would urge residents to attend and make their feelings known against this sacrilege before it is too late, and future generations will have lost this wonderful scenic heritage.
