Residents must show support to beat proposed windfarm monstrosity

I was shocked and disgusted when I read your article regarding the proposal of yet further wind turbines in this area (The Cumberland News, September 14).

The Westnewton project is of particular concern to me and my family as the proposed site is only a matter of metres away from our homes and every time we look out of our windows we will look onto these unsightly turbines.

They will destroy what is, in my view and that of many others, the most wonderful view in this area of Cumbria. The Solway sunsets, along with views of the changing seasons, are a sight to behold.

As a resident of Aspatria all of my life I feel betrayed to think that the landowners could even consider condoning the desecration of this area of outstanding natural beauty.

As these proposed turbines are to be situated so close to our homes in Aspatria I am particularly concerned about health hazards, noise levels, distress etc.

The proposed Westnewton windfarm has crept up on us unawares and I would hope that after reading my points of view, residents would lend their support by attending any meetings to endeavour to have this hideous proposal quashed before it is too late.
