A Cape Cod Commission subcommittee reviewing the wind farm proposed for Nantucket Sound officially approved a draft decision denying the project yesterday.
The full 61-page draft decision and other information about the commission’s review of Cape Wind’s project can be viewed at www.capecodcommission.org. Click on the wind turbines logo on the left side of the page.
The full commission is expected to vote on the subcommittee’s decision at its next meeting Oct. 18.
The Cape Cod Commission is reviewing the project’s transmission lines through state waters and on land in Yarmouth and Barnstable.
In a prepared statement Cape Wind’s vice president of regulatory affairs, Dennis Duffy, said the subcommittee was applying a different standard to the Cape Wind project than it did to other projects, including two electricity transmission lines to Nantucket that the commission chose not to review.
