Gauging local views on Baillie wind farm

The proposed Baillie wind farm is shortly due to go for approval before the Scottish Government, and it is important that the views of the local residents are made known.

The developer has canvassed views from a wide area, including Thurso, and suggested community benefits. Many of the persons canvassed, however, will not be directly affected by the development.

Scottish Natural Heritage, who objected to the development, have now withdrawn their objection, which makes the project likely to receive approval.

To gauge the views of those affected by the development, a public meeting has been arranged for Wednesday, October 10, in Lieurary Hall. It is hoped that a large turnout will attend.
