Plans to double the size of the Blaen Bowi wind farm near Newcastle Emlyn have been thrown out by Carmarthenshire councillors.
Protestors, who have campaigned for several years against the scheme, have welcomed the decision, which would have created a six-turbine farm on the top of Moelfre mountain.
Carmarthenshire County Council’s planning committee agreed on Thursday with the recommendation of officers to refuse permission.
In their report to the committee planning officers said the development would have a “significant adverse effect” on the landscape on and around the site, including part of the Teifi Valley Special Landscape Area.
