To everyone who gave on Giving Tuesday!
Wind Watch still needs help, though. If you did not already, please contribute now. Every dollar (and euro, yuan, pound, krone, zloty, ruble, rupee, shekel, etc.) helps to keep us on line and independent.
The Ministry of Defence is poised to shoot down plans for a triple wind farm development in the Knowesgate area.
The Ministry has lodged formal objections to all three applications at the Steadings, Ray Estate and Green Rigg, on the grounds that RAF low-flying excercises could be affected.
Similar objections from the RAF put the block on an application for a massive windfarm at Kielder 20 years ago.
The Ministry’s objections will come as a body blow to the developers of the three windfarms, whose plans go before a public inquiry in January.
