STOP Linton Wind Farm (LWF) action group said it now has more than 350 members following a height demonstration and public meeting this week.
The group, which hopes to block plans to build an eight turbine wind farm just south west of Linton, was pleased by the support they received at the meeting on Tuesday night.
On Saturday morning the group flew a blimp at turbine height of 125 metres close to the wind farm site.
Mike Barnard, of Stop LWF, said: “I think everybody who saw it was shocked at just how high it’s going to be.
“The problem we’ve got is you say 125 metres to people and they haven’t got the opportunity to see it in the air, that’s why we flew the blimp.”
If the plans, which are yet to be submitted, are approved by South Cambridgeshire Council’s planning committee then eight turbines will be built between Linton and Great Chesterford close to Camgrain.
Enertrag, the company behind the plans, also proposes to set up a local trust fund which will dish out at least £15,000 every year to good causes in the area.
