Protestors against a wind farm are celebrating a significant step forward.
South Norfolk Council last night rejected plans submitted by SLP Energy to build a 60m high Anemometry Mast at Semere Lane, Pulham Market.
Reasons given included the sensitivity of the area, the disturbance of air traffic and the visual impact.
The temporary mast would have been in place for 18 months to collect wind data before plans to build seven wind turbines were submitted.
The councillors’ decision, 5-1 against, was met with applause by the many residents who packed out the council chamber at Long Stratton.
