Plans for windfarm go on display

Plans for what would be the largest windfarm in the West Midlands region have been unveiled.

Eight 300ft turbines would be built in Bagot’s Park, near Abbots Bromley, Staffordshire, under plans submitted by international energy firm Airtricity.

The plans, which if approved would see the windfarm being built by 2009, are being exhibited across the area.

Its backers say it would generate power for 10,000 homes, but opponents say it would be a blot on the landscape.

The plans have been on display in Uttoxeter and Marchington and will go on show at Abbots Bromley Village Hall on 11 September between 1400 BST and 2000 BST.
