Turbines on the agenda

Revised plans are being drawn up to build up to eight wind turbines.

Energy firm Airtricity is preparing to submit a new planning application to build a wind farm on the Bagot’s Park Estate, north of Abbots Bromley, near Uttoxeter.

It is estimated it will provide enough electricity for 10,000 homes.

Now, residents in East Staffordshire are to be consulted about the plans at three exhibitions.

The first is at Uttoxeter Town Hall tomorrow, between 11am and 4pm.

Further exhibitions will be held at Marchington Woodlands Village Hall, on Monday, and Abbots Bromley Village Hall, on Tuesday.

An Airtricity spokesman said: “The site has good wind speeds.

“The turbines will be a maximum height of 112 metres to the blade tip, and will be laid out differently to the previous application, which was withdrawn.”
