I suppose in this, the information age, everyone feels that they must have to have an opinion.
For example: by now most residents of the North Wales coast will have heard that this beautiful region is about to be industrialised with hundreds of gigantic wind turbines off our coastline if planners get their way.
Most people I speak to about this most important issue have a view but are under an illusion that the wind farms will be barely visible, just like that ‘little development’ off Prestatyn.
I can understand their response; they haven’t seen the
plans and are sounding off without a full knowledge of the facts.
I have yet to encounter anyone with these judgements who has been to his or her local library and reviewed the latest plans put forward by npower – the developing company.
To those people who speak without full possession of the facts I say, before you spout off, go to the library – dig out a copy of the latest Environmental Information Plans for Gwynt y Mor windfarm and turn to page 126 and see for yourselves what is to become of our precious views from the Great Orme.
Or turn to pages 128 and 131 and remember what it was like to stroll along Llandudno’s iconic promenade.
Maybe you can conjure up an image of that quaint idyll of Rhos on Sea before you turn to page 132 and see the heartbreaking photos of what it will be like in the near future.
As I say, everyone has an opinion…
