An action group opposed to a windfarm near Ceres has lodged its formal objection.
Ceres and District Environment and Amenity Protection Group said the culmulative effects of the windfarm development made the proposal unacceptable.
Group chairman Graham Lang said the objection had been shaped by addressing planning policy, landscape concerns and visual and residential amenity.
“The group has enjoyed the benefit of the input on planners experienced in dealing with windfarm applications, none of whom considered the site appropriate,” he said.
EnergieKontor has applied to Fife Council to build a five-turbine windfarm at Gathercauld, a project that has attracted hundreds of objections from groups and residents.
Mr Lang said the Ceres group commissioned chartered landscape architect and former landscape manager at Scottish Natural Heritage, Nigel Buchan.
His appointment was confirmed after a two-day assessment of the site and the developer’s environmental statement.
“Mr Buchan’s conclusions are that the assessment by the developer’s consultant underplays many significant effects,” said Mr Lang.
“The conclusion is that noise from the turbines would adversely affect the residential amenity of many households.”
