Methil mobilises to block turbine

Hundreds of Methil residents are mobilising their opposition to the proposed wind turbine at the docks.
By the beginning of this week there were around 300 names – and rising – on a petition to block the Scottish Enterprise Fife-backed project and with only a single name given in favour… and that anonymously.
Community concerns have been brewing for months but there is now growing anger at what local residents see is a lack of consultation and information.
“All we are asking is that people are given the full facts and that’s not happening,” said Avril (Gillespie) Bayne, one of the organisers behind the petition.
“National guidelines urge effective community engagement, and that means letting people know what is happening on their doorstep.”
