Plans for seven 410ft wind turbines at a North-east beauty spot will be shown to the public today.
The scheme is proposed for Pressendye, a hill near Tarland visible from the Cairngorms National Park.
The park authority has already raised concerns with Aberdeenshire Council over the “significant” impact the turbines could have on the area.
Cushnie Wind Energy is setting up two exhibitions to outline the development’s impact.
The developers, a joint venture between Falck Renewables and RDC Scotland with Wales-based West Coast Energy, was to hold exhibitions today at Cushnie Hall, Lochel-Cushnie from 3pm to 8pm, and tomorrow at the MacRobert Memorial Hall, Tarland, from 4pm to 8pm.
Comments gathered during the consultation will be taken into account when the planning application is submitted – probably later this year.
Cushnie Wind Energy aims to build seven 410ft (125m) high turbines and a substation with potential to provide enough energy for 5,500 homes.
Project manager at West Coast Energy Fraser Mackenzie said: “From an original concept, the project has been subject to considerable design input to minimise the environmental impacts.
“We consider that an appropriately scaled development in this location will provide clean, green energy for a significant number of households.”
