Gordon, Vinick to square off on Cape Wind

It isn’t often that the president of Cape Wind Associates and the chief executive of the Alliance to Protect Nantucket Sound sit down together to discuss the controversial wind farm proposed for the Sound. They’re doing just that next week in Brewster.

In what promises to be a lively evening, Cape Cod Museum of Natural History will host “The Wind Farm: a Discussion” Wednesday, Aug. 15, at 7:30 p.m. The event is free to the public but advance registration for seating is required.

Jim Gordon, president of Cape Wind and Charles Vinick, chief executive officer of the Alliance, will present “an exchange of views on the project.” Allen Larson, president of Cape Cod Center for Sustainability, will moderate.

After the program, members of the audience will have an opportunity to speak individually with Gordon and Vinick.

Cape Wind proposes to build 130 440-foot-tall wind turbines across 25 square miles on Horseshoe Shoal. The issue has been debated throughout the Cape for several years.

For further information and to reserve space, contact Cape Cod Museum of Natural History at 508-896-3867, ext. 129.
