Windfarms not wanted

Recently there has been a lot of talk about the wind turbine farms – for and against.

We have owned our farm since 1980 and built our dream home to enjoy the peace and quiet of the bush.

The chaos these wind turbines would create would be devastating to us and also the flora and fauna in our area.

We have nesting Wedge Tailed Eagles who would not have survived seven years of drought without our help to feed them.

To make matters worse the proposed wind turbines are to go smack in the middle of Towarri National Park on a corridor of freehold land.

Do the public realise it is not easy to be green when:

1. The bush will get bulldozed to build the turbines.

2. They truck in 1000 tonnes of cement to go under each tower (there are 12 towers in our area).

3. The noise factor.

4. The fire hazard (towers have been known to catch fire).

5. The skyline never looks the same again.

6. These monsters are purchased overseas.

7. What happens to the Wedge Tailed Eagles that inhabit the area? Do they get chopped up by the blades?

Well I’m sorry, but I don’t want these wind turbines in my backyard.
