Approval is a big mistake

The planning approval for Eco2’s Mynydd y Betws wind farm near Ammanford is a big mistake which will haunt all people involved for many years to come.

There needs to be an internal and external investigation into this. When you look up to this ugly development you will remember who voted for this project to go ahead. I would like to know how this proposal, which was opposed by many local people, the AM and MP, neighbouring authorities such as Swansea and Neath Port Talbot and a wide range of other bodies was approved.

In Glyncorrwg we are also fighting against Eco2’s plans for 4 x 410ft turbines close to our village. Full details of our campaign can be found at www.glyncorrwgaction.org.uk .

Once you had the gold rush, now we have a wind rush. Developers are sticking their snouts in the trough to obtain subsidies before they run out.

Beware of wind farm developers bearing gifts. They offer small amounts in comparison to the money they make. In some cases the money does not materialise. Near us, the Ffynnon Oer wind farm developers promised community benefits, but few of the people in Croeserw most affected by this ugly development have seen any of this money.
