Acknowledge area's beauty

Former leader of Ceredigion Council, Councillor Dai Lloyd Evans of Tregaron, is quoted in the Press as saying the Cambrian Mountains are the best place for wind farms, the proposals to designate these mountains as an area of outstanding natural beauty would not be well received locally, and he did not see the point!

What utter nonsense – this councillor urgently needs to not only acquaint himself with the technology and limitations of wind generated electricity, but also the amount of power Wales currently produces – is he aware we export surplus power to the National Grid/England – is he not also aware that the proposed Pembrokeshire 1 CCGT power station alone, has a capacity of 2000 MW – so much for his puny wind farms.

I would have thought people would welcome living in an area designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty, especially considering the potential for an increase in property prices, not to mention income from tourism and preserving unspoiled countryside for future generations.
