Turbines recommended for approval

Councillors have been recommended to give the go-ahead to a 10-turbine wind farm near Ashkirk in the Borders.

Airtricity wants to build the development at Langhope Rig off the B711 road.

Council officials have added a list of no fewer than 35 detailed conditions which, they say, should be applied if the scheme gets the go-ahead.

The project would generate electricity for 13,000 homes and connect into the national grid at Hawick.
