FITCHBURG— With discussion in recent months about whether wind turbines could be built in the city, the Planning Board will be hosting an informational meeting that includes a presentation by an engineer on renewable energy and wind energy.
The public meeting begins at 7 p.m. July 11 in the Veteran’s Memorial Room in City Hall.
Sally Wright, a research fellow and staff engineer for the Renewable Energy Research Laboratory at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, will be making the presentation.
In March, Councilor Jesus M. “Jay” Cruz submitted a proposal to allow windmill farms to be built in Fitchburg.
