Make cities using power put up with windmills

Stop the horrid windmills. Stop ruining the prairie landscape. Stop ruining the night sky with nauseating, perpetual carnival lights.

Stop the ungodly onslaught of our countryside for electricity that goes to large cities and people that don’t live here and don’t have to look at this crap. Stop these metastatic visual tumors.

I feel better now.

I live northwest of Hudson and am facing the prospect of “wind factories” both north and south of me and I am voicing my own thoughts and the thoughts of too many rural residents who are afraid to speak up and voice their opinion on this nightmare that will never go away. Ever.

Why do some zoning board and county board members sell our beautiful countryside like pimps selling flesh?

Drive east of Bloomington at night and park for 20 minutes. Like the endless flashing lights? Each turbine is 450 feet tall and 50 of them flash 45,000 times every hour.

Oh, I forgot, if you live in town, you don’t have to look at them. For tens of thousands of us in rural areas, it is all night – everynight – for the rest of our lives.

Proportionally, there should be around 30,000 of them in the five counties around Chicago, but there are none -nor in Champaign, Peoria, Rockford, Decatur, Springfield and Bloomington where most electricity is used.

Put some on Veterans Parkway, golf courses, all malls and around State Farm, a metabolic sink for power usage.

If money is the goal, put more lights on the turbines and sell beer, shoes, dentistry and flowers. Let’s have more people, more cars, more malls, more people, more cars, more malls, more people and, of course, more and bigger windmills.

Stop this ignorance now!
