Wind turbines part of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh plan

Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh reeve Ben Van Diepenbeek says he hopes the municipality will have a new zoning bylaw by September.

They’ve had two public meetings concerning the new bylaw and Van Diepenbeek says it will include setback requirements for wind turbines.

They’re still proposing setbacks of 400 metres from a dwelling and 600 metres from an urban development or groups of homes.

He says they’re waiting for further information from the Ministry of Environment on the impact of noise.

He says they’re also very closely monitoring the OMB hearing involving Kincardine and the Endridge Wind Energy Project.
