Shaffer Mountain windmills

I’m currently a volunteer for the Dark Shade Watershed Project, I really don’t see why we need to have a windmill project near where we are currently trying to improve wildlife environment through fishing and game.

The project will ruin ph levels of 5.5 or better in the Piney Run area if mud or other erosions processes of dirt get into the water and underground fresh water unless Gamesa Energy USA wants to build a wall to protect the fish and game. They need to wake up and look at the facts here.

It is time for people who are against this to stand up for what is right if people in the surrounding Shade area want a better fish and game and not such low ph levels that all the volunteers has been working on since 1999. Plus, they really lost my respect when the didn’t show up for the public meeting a couple of days ago. The DEP has to reject their permit for those reasons stated above and more people need to get involved in this effort to stop this!

In conclusion, the wind energy project is a great idea, however; think about the location before you start doing something that property owners or local residents don’t agree with and make sure the location is proper for it!
