Giving up our mountains

I was quite saddened to learn today that preparations are being made to start construction of the Lookout Mountain Energy Project south of Berlin.
While neighboring states are taking real steps to regulate wind turbine construction on mountain ridges, we in Pennsylvania hear the propaganda from Gamesa that they are green.
Wind energy is not green, as I have written before in this paper.
Even in the presence of new reports of Vibro-Acoustic disease, bird and bat kills, the projects go on.
The facts are in – turbines will not slow down global warming, nor dependence on foreign oil.
Keep this in mind as you watch the destruction of our mountains.
The decision to construct wind turbines at this time was not made by scientists.
These decisions were made by politicians giving money to energy companies: it’s called corporate welfare.
We should not give our mountains up so easily.
