Don't ruin our village

We are two senior citizens – 81 and 83 – who were born in Glyncorrwg and have lived all our lives here (apart from my husband’s five-year active service during the 1939-45 war). We were brought up during a poverty-stricken era, both fathers dying as a result of working in the mines in the village. However, as hard as these times were for our family, as children we enjoyed the freedom of the practically vehicle-free roads and playing safely on the mountains. Compared to the poverty of our parents, we feel like millionaires. Our houses have increased so much in price it is unbelievable. But we know why. People have discovered our village and our valleys. We live in some of the most beautiful countryside on these islands.

We are concerned at the plan by Eco2 to build a wind farm so very near to our village. Our beautiful views will be spoiled, there will be noise from the turbines, TV reception will be affected and the value of our property will fall. One of the reasons we love this area is because of the wildlife, particularly the birds, which we think will be affected by the turbines. Having suffered so much in the past we want to enjoy the peace and beauty of Glyncorrwg.

Please Eco2 do not spoil things.
