Windmill tower remains in Menomonee Falls

The large steel cylinder that blocked a Menomonee Falls intersection all day Thursday spent the entire day Friday just a couple blocks down the road!

The trucking company, Anderson Trucking Service, was going to haul the heavy cargo back to Tower Tech, the Manitowoc company that built it. Meaning – it’d have to go back the way it came – turning at the problem intersection at Appleton and Main. Menomonee Falls Police Department wouldn’t let the truck go until dark when traffic slows down.

This is just one of several large loads set to move through the village. Eventually it and other loads will make its way down to a wind farm in Iowa.

Menomonee Falls Police has asked the Wisconsin Department of Transportation to consider rerouting these trucks to avoid any future incidents. MFPD has yet to hear back from the DOT.
