Kincardine windfarm OMB hearing noisy

The noise expert for opponents of the Enbridge windfarm in Kincardine is being cross examined at an Ontario Municipal Board hearing today.

John Coulter says some turbines at the proposed windfarm will create more than the allowed noise levels at nearby homes – as much as three to five decibels more for up to 200 hours a year.

Solving the problem means using different controls or turbine models or removing some of the turbines entirely.

Cross examination by Enbridge pressed Coulter to explain how he arrived at his decibel ratings.

That explanation is expected to continue under further cross examination today.
