Sections of the towers for wind turbines that are part of the NedPower wind farm project at Mount Storm have begun arriving by tractor-trailer.
The sections, large enough for a man to walk through, are being located near the concrete pads on which the towers for the turbines will rest once assembled.
Mortenson, the main contractor on the 200-turbine wind farm, is continuing the work despite a pending West Virginia Supreme Court decision on a lawsuit by nearby residents to halt the project.
Off-duty deputies of the Grant County Sheriff’s Department are assisting with traffic control as the large turbine equipment is being delivered and transported to the site.
